Beautiful decorative piece, nice proportioned.
The serpentine breakfront shelf above a fielded freeze centered by a superb central cartouche echoed by sturdy scrolled endblocks which sit above angled, fluted jambs on sturdy footblocks. The sides are adorned by round brass vents.
Mantel has its lovely original patina.
Overall great piece with history.
