Welcome to Schermerhorn Antique Fireplaces. These terms and conditions apply to the use of our website antique-fireplace.com and to all offers, sales and deliveries by Schermerhorn Antique Fireplaces.

All terms relate to the offer, acceptance and payment for our products and services. All agreements are governed by Dutch law. Words in the singular include the plural and vice versa.
We sell antique and reclaimed architectural elements, including fireplaces, mantels, firebacks and natural stone flooring. These are old objects, often centuries old. Patina, signs of use, minor damage and earlier restorations are part of their character and are not defects. We describe and photograph each item as accurately as we can. Colours may differ slightly on screen.
Prices are shown in the currency selected on the website, unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are shown at checkout or agreed in consultation. An order is final once we have confirmed it in writing and payment has been received.
We deliver by arrangement with the buyer. Delivery times are indicative. Risk passes to the buyer once the item has been handed over to the buyer or the carrier. Please inspect the shipment on receipt and report any visible transport damage in writing, with photos, within 48 hours.
5.1 Scope. This policy applies to deliveries to United States, Canada, United Kingdom .
5.2 Return period. You may return an item within 14 days of receiving it. This applies to both defective and non-defective products.
5.3 Exchanges. Exchanges are accepted under the same conditions. Please contact us to arrange one.
5.4 Condition. The item must be in the condition in which you received it. We may refuse a return if damage occurred after delivery, or if the item has been altered or installed.
5.5 Returns by mail. Returns are sent by mail. Please notify us of your return in writing first and pack the item carefully so that it is not damaged in transit.
5.6 Costs. The return label and return shipping are the customer’s responsibility. We charge no restocking fees.
5.7 Refunds. We refund the purchase price within 14 days of receiving the returned item, using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
5.8 Defects. If you find a defect that was not stated in the description, please report it in writing, with photos, within 14 days of receipt. You can then choose between a return and refund or an exchange. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.
