Large antique fireplace screen.

This exceptionally large fireplace screen dates from around 1900. It consists of five panels, similar in form to a folding screen or room divider. It is made of tinplate, with stamped ornamental decoration. Handles are attached to the top of the two outer panels. One of the six finials above the panel connections was replaced in the past with a round knob. This fireplace screen is, in part due to the size, a striking decorative piece and combines beautifully with a fireplace mantel from around 1900.
