18th Century Dutch Mantelpiece, Louis XIV Style
A fireplace of great proportions, this monumental piece is executed in amazing striking Belgian Rouge Royal marble.
This marble is know for it huge color diversity and application in the most amazing building and furniture (fireplace. tabeltops and columns)
The paneled frieze sits below a large profiled and protruding top shelf, the paneling continues in straight profiled and paneled jambs that end on rectangular endblock.
The color difference between the induvial parts originate in the directions the mantel is quarried and then cut out of the quarried blocks.
Truly amazing and grand piece.
Frieze has been restored and professionally braced.
